Here is an hdr photograph taken in the cloister inside Gloucester Cathedral. Located in Gloucester, Gloucestershire, England, UK. It was used quite a few times in the Harry Potter films as part of the corridors of Hogwarts.
You still have some cathedrals in the US. One thing that is really handy to find historic places is google maps. If you go into your general area any type churches in the search it will bring up all the churches in that area on the map. It works for other types of buildings as well.
Thanks Michael, glad you think they look like lovely watercolour paintings Have a soft spot for traditional art even though I lack the talent, so it's fun manipulating them through texture blends. After the first one was made, it was pretty easy & straightforward to recreate the other 2. Basically a texture swap where your image served as the same layer mask all throughout. Just the process & experimentation of getting to the first one that was very time consuming because I love testing things out by myself instead of following step-by-step tutorials.
