I like how the pillars are not exactly opposite one another (architecturally). I don't like how they make you walk the longest possible distance in the maze on the ground ;). nice picture :D

Thanks Makani. Most cathedrals have the roof and pillars perfectly aligned. This place had the roof at an angle and wasn't perfectly aligned. So it was either a choice of having the pillars perfectly aligned or have the roof aligned. I decided to take the point of view where the ceiling was perfectly centre instead of the pillars. :)

yeah. I would have done the same. aligning the pillars would have resulted in the ceiling looking skewed :)

Thanks! I love cathedrals and shooting photographs from in them. Trust me it is a million times better when you are actually there, you cannot replicate the feeling you get in these places. :)

Nah I was visiting via train and didn't have much time at all. I had a quick google of Wakefield but couldn't find anything else architecture wise during the quick search. Most of my visits are via train which means I am usually time restricted and have to plan well in advance of what to do and where to go. :)

Awesome. :winner:

I would like to see the pipe organ and its console. Is that possible?

Fair enough.

Perhaps in other houses of the holy you will find instruments worthy of your camera in the future. Thanks for sharing. :D

If you are interested in organs, maybe you would like to take a look at my Blackpool Tower Ballroom photographs. I think that there will probably be a shot of the Wurlitzer on one of them. :D

A visit to my page will show my interest in Theatre Pipe Organs. However, I also enjoy Classical Pipe Organs. I even have a soft spot for electronic instruments, too, though they cannot compare with their windblown counterparts.

I went through your entire gallery. Though I saw excellent shots at Blackpool, I saw no Mighty WurliTzer. The organ I did see was a Wesi electronic instrument. The WurliTzer console was low on its lift below stage level and thus was out of view.

Excellent gallery. :gallery:
